Week 32 – Ligue 1 Betting Tips | French Football Betting
Last week we were on the money as we predicted that Lorient would beat St Etienne (but not the incredible 6-2!). We also advised that Bordeaux would beat Metz. That said, we failed to see Lens beating Nice, which they did at a canter 3-0 in a very surprising result and score line. And finally, we were very very close to in our advice that Strasbourg would scrape a win against Lyon….right up until the 89 minutes at least…when Karl Toko Ekambi grabbed a late (undeserved) equaliser for Les Gones. Let’s take a look at some of this week’s games.

Let’s take a look at this week’s focus games for game week 32.
RENNES vs MONACO
This is one fascinating game. Rennes are hot, hot favourites according to the odds. If Marseille lose to PSG on Sunday and Rennes beat Monaco, Rennes will leapfrog into second. They are unbeaten in 8 straight games (7 wins and 1 draw) and only PSG have scored more goals than them (70-67) in the league all season. Their star man, Benjamin Bourigeaud has 8 goals and 11 assists from midfield this season. He is their fulcrum, their symbol. The fans adore him. However, as an opponent, you cannot afford to simply try and shut Bourigeaud down. The threat Rennes poses is multi-faceted and absolutely purring right now. And that is with Jeremy Doku and Kamaldeen Sulemana still out injured. And yet, Rennes only just scraped past lowly Reims last week, 3-2. More alarmingly, Rennes were 3-0 up before collapsing. A one-off stumble? Monaco certainly have the weapons to test the theory. However, they remain somewhat inconsistent. Monaco have yet to fully click under Clement. And while they do have three wins in a row (including a 3-0 win against PSG), their performances remain unconvincing. Yet, Monaco are only 2 points off Strasbourg in 4th. And they have talent across the pitch. I find it hard though to predict an easy Rennes win. Or indeed a difficult win for Rennes. I think this one will be a draw.
LILLE vs LENS
A fierce northern derby that pitches 7th (Lille) against 8th (Lens). The odds have Lille as slight favourites. I disagree. I think that Lens will have enough, on a high from their trouncing of Nice, to put Lille to the sword. Lille, the current title holders, have been way too inconsistent this season. The holes in their squad, so expertly held together by Cristophe Galtier last season, have been exposed during this one. They have been held to 12 draws and lost 7 in 31, scoring 39 and conceding 36. That is the very definition of mediocrity. Their finishing has been a major problem as last season’s star, elderly Burak Yilmaz, has seen his form fall off a cliff. And Jonatha David’s form is not far behind. Lille are coming off the back of two very poor draws against free-falling Angers and Bordeaux. Across those two games, Lille had 39 shots and scored once. Lens, on the other hand, whilst being a place behind Lille are seemingly in a better position for this game. They have been inconsistent too (WDWLDWLW). But were superb against Nice, causing Galtier’s usually ice cold and well-drilled side to collapse both technically and in their discipline too. In Seko Fofana Jonathan Clauss and the bustling Arnaud Kalimuendo (who should be getting more game time) Lens have the weapons to finish Lille off and I expect them to do so.
