Defensa y Justicia vs River Plate

We are facing the best football match that the Argentinean league has to offer this weekend, Defensa and River are the two teams that have been playing better in the tournament, being the first two in number of goals scored and in possession of the ball. For these reasons we are expecting a great and even match. Both are coming from a not so good weekend, Defensa drawing 1-1 against a poor Arsenal, while River lost an unlucky match against Boca 0-1, despite having dominated the whole game, but they paid a high price for their lack of efficiency in their finishing. Both are great teams, but nevertheless River is superior, so we can expect them to win the match. What is certain is that it will be a great spectacle, where we will probably see many goals.

Racing Club vs Sarmiento

Racing are on an incredible run, having beaten Independiente 2-1 in the Clasico last weekend, they are the only team in Argentinian football who are still undefeated at this stage of the season. The team coached by former Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago has shown great chemistry on the pitch and a great capacity to adapt to the new style of play that the coach proposed at the start of the tournament. Sarmiento are coming off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Barracas, in a match in which their first-choice central defender Federico Andueza was sent off with a red card. For these reasons it is very likely that Racing will not have many problems to take the victory.

Velez Sarsfield vs Lanus

Velez and Lanus are two teams that are in very similar situations, both were very important teams last season, occupying the top places in the rankings but disappointing everyone at the start of this league. Both have won just one game out of seven so far, and are both bottom of the table despite having great players in their squads. Due to the fact that they are at home and that they have changed their manager this week, Velez are our favourites but by very little, it is also very likely that we will see a draw as they are two teams that have not yet adapted to a fixed game idea and have a lot of room for improvement.

 

 

Boca Juniors vs Arsenal de Sarandi

We all know that although in recent years they have not been so impressive, Boca is one of the most important teams in the country, to this we must add that they come with a boost after winning the SUPERCLASICO last weekend to the great River by 0-1, however as we said in the analysis of River, Boca was dominated most of the game. Knowing that they are in high spirits and playing at home, it won’t be too difficult for them to get a win against a weak Arsenal, who have only managed to win one game all season and have proven to be one of the worst teams in general.

 

 

Godoy Cruz vs Estudiantes

Estudiantes is so far, along with River, Defensa and Racing, among the best teams in the tournament, at the top of the table having lost only one game against Boca and because they played with a team full of substitutes. On the other hand we have Godoy Cruz, which has had ups and downs, but in general is a very regular team that is in mid-table. The most logical and probable would be to see a win for Estudiantes, but nevertheless we believe that there is a chance that Godoy Cruz can get a draw.
