The Ligue 1 fixture, ES Troyes AC vs. LOSC Lille, kicks off at 12:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday, May 1, at Stade de l'Aube.
Relegation-threatened Troyes failed to earn a point following a 1-0 defeat to OGC Nice last weekend at the Allianz Riviera. A last-gasp effort from Khephren Thuram (90'+4) left ESTAC with back-to-back defeats, WLDLL, and in 16th place, having picked up 33 points from 8W, 9D, and 17L. Troyes sits six points above the relegation zone and two points above the relegation-play-off spot. An unlikely victory over Lille could see the home side put some points between themselves and the bottom three if favorable results emerge elsewhere. Troyes have won seven of their last 17 matches against Lille in the top-flight [7W, 6D, & 4L], - their highest win total against an opponent in the top flight (tied with Bordeaux). However, ESTAC have won only one of their 16 matches against reigning Ligue 1 champions in the 21st century [1W, 5D, & 10L], although PSG has mathematically secured this season’s Ligue 1 title. Back-to-back Ligue 1 campaigns will be the sole objective of Bruno Irles when he lines up the 5—4—1 with Iké Ugbo in attack. Meanwhile, Mama Baldé remains suspended for the weekend’s clash, having picked up a red card against Clermont Foot.
The Ligue 1 fixture, ES Troyes AC vs. RC Strasbourg Alsace, kicks off at 14:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday, April 17, at Stade de l'Aube.
Last time out, Troyes picked up a 2-1 defeat to Monaco at the Stade Louis II. Troyes’ Ike Ugbo (39') bagged the leveler after a remarkable goal from Henrique (19'). Minutes into the second half, Kevin Volland (57') restored Monaco’s one-goal lead, seconds after coming off the bench. The defeat was the first for ESTAC in their last five Ligue 1 matches, WWDWL. Fortunately, Troyes were left in 15th place despite failing to earn a point on Ligue 1 Matchday 31, having 32 points from 8W, 8D, & 15L. Troyes are unbeaten in their last four home games against teams sitting in the top-five of the table at the start of the matchday [1W, 3D], and are looking to keep the unbeaten run up at the end of the weekend after they take on Le Racing. In addition, Troyes have won their last two home games in Ligue 1 and now aim for three in a row in a bid to match their club record of four, picked up back in 2007 between January and February. However, ESTAC have been unable to find the back of the net consistently and have a goal ratio of 0.94 GPG this season, having scored 29 goals in 31 Ligue 1 games. The club has conceded 44 goals [an average of 1.42 goals conceded per game] and has a G.D. of -15. Onlookers may see another defensive-minded 5—4—1 formation from Bruno Irles against Strasbourg, with Ike Ugbo in attack.
AS Monaco vs. ES Troyes AC kicks off at 14:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday, April 10, at the Stade Louis II.
Troyes bagged three points after a 1-0 win over Reims at the Stade de l’Aube last weekend, courtesy of a single goal from Renaud Ripart (90'+3) right at the death. Troyes, in 15th place on the Ligue 1 table, have picked up 32 points from 8W, 8D, and 14L. ESTAC are unbeaten in five games and looking to pick up back-to-back victories (DWWDW) at the end of the weekend. The club is currently on their longest unbeaten run of the season and could equal a club record of six in the top flight, picked up between December 1999 and January 2001. Only Strasbourg (8), Lille (7), and Rennes (6) are currently on a longer unbeaten run in Ligue 1. Troyes have 28 goals after 30 Ligue 1 games, an average of 0.93 goals per game, and have conceded 42 goals [1.4 goals per match] so far this season, leaving the club with a G.D. of -14. Bruno Irles could line up the dynamic 3—5—2 formation for Sunday’s game, with Renaud Ripart and Lebo Mothiba in attack.
The Ligue 1 fixture, ES Troyes AC vs. Olympique de Marseille, kicks off at 17:05 (GMT+1) on Sunday, February 27, at Stade de l Aube.
Troyes picked up to back-to-back defeats after the 4-1 loss to Rennes at Roazhon Park last weekend. Ike Ugbo (39’) scored Troyes’ only goal of the game in the 4-1 thrashing, which comes after the 5-1 defeat to Brest. ESTAC fell to 17th place after four games without a win, WLDLL, and are now tied with the bottom two in points [21 points] after 5W, 6D, and 14L. However, the club sits above the relegation zone based on a slightly better goal difference of -18. A defeat here would see the club slip further down the table and into the murky waters of relegation. Having lost the last three games against Les Olympiens, Troyes could pick up four defeats in a row against Marseille for the first time in their history. ESTAC has been poor in front of goal, averaging only 0.88 goals per game this season, having scored 22 goals in 25 Ligue 1 games. In addition, they have conceded 40 goals, an average of 1.6 goals per game. On Sunday, a 3—5—2 formation with Ike Ugbo and Yoann Touzghar is expected from Bruno Irles for this fixture against Marseille.
ES Troyes AC vs. Olympique Lyonnais kicks off at 17:05 (GMT+1) on Sunday, January 16, at the Stade de l’Aube.
Troyes failed to take part in the last round of Ligue 1 action following a COVID-inspired decision to have their Matchday 20 fixture against Montpellier postponed. The decision was made based on the opinion of the national COVID FFF commission and it centered around concerns over the number of ESTAC Troyes players who tested positive for COVID-19. A new date for the fixture, Montpellier HSC vs. ESTAC Troyes, initially scheduled for Sunday, January 9, will be communicated by Ligue 1. It was supposed to be Bruno Irles’ first game in charge of ESTAC, following the axe that saw City Football Group part ways with Laurent Batlles by mutual consent. In Troyes’ last Ligue 1 appearance, the club picked up a 1-1 draw against Brest on home soil. Despite avoiding defeat after two losses in a row, LWLLD, ESTAC moved two spots down the table, from 14th to 16th place. The draw, which later became Laurent Batlles’ last game in charge, left the club with a total of 17 points after 4W, 5D, and 10L. With a new manager at the helm, a motivated version of Troyes may be seen on Sunday, for this fixture against the Kids. It remains unknown in what shape the new boss, Bruno Irles, will appear in on his debut for the club. Irles previously managed Ligue 2 side Quevilly-Rouen, before slipping into the managerial role at Troyes. ESTAC will be without as many as three key players who are currently on international duty at AFCON, Cameroon 2021.
The Ligue 1 fixture, Lille OSC vs. ES Troyes AC, kicks off at 19:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, December 4, at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
ESTAC also returned to winning ways after three consecutive defeats, DLLLW, following the 2-0 win over Lorient during the week. Goals from Renaud Ripart (6’) and Rominigue Kouamé (34’) were enough to settle the duel of ninety minutes. The victory saw the club jump two steps higher on the Ligue 1 standings, from 17th to 15th place, having picked up 16 points from 4W, 4D, and 8L. Picking up a win over the current Ligue 1 champions appears to be a tall order, but Laurent Battles could be aiming for at least a point when Troyes visits the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. With an average of 0.94 goals scored per game, the club has 15 goals after 16 Ligue 1 games. On the other end, Troyes has conceded 23 goals (1.44 goals per match) so far this season and has a G.D. of -8. In this game against Lille, a 3—5—2 formation or its variant, a 3—5—1—1, may be seen, with Renaud Ripart in attack. Adil Rami remains doubtful, while Karim Azamoum (ACL injury) is ruled out.
The match between Olympique de Marseille and ES Troyes AC in French Ligue 1 begins at 20:45 (GMT+1) on Sunday, November 28 at the Stade Vélodrome.
Troyes picked up a 1-0 defeat to Saint Étienne last Sunday and dropped three spots lower, from 14th to 17th place, on the Ligue 1 table, having failed to pick up a point. The club has 13 points from 3W, 4D, & 7L and return with back-to-back defeats: WWDLL, ahead of this fixture against Marseille. ESTAC has 13 goals after 14 Ligue 1 games, a goal ratio of 0.93 goals per game. The club has conceded 22 goals so far this season and has a G.D. of -9. Troyes has conceded an average of 1.57 goals per match, but Laurent Batlles will be looking to pick up a famous win over the favorites on Sunday. A 3—4—1—2 formation with the Tunisian, Yoann Touzghar, and Renaud Ripart in attack is expected once again. Yasser Larouci could be making a comeback along with Philippe Sandler, while Mama Baldé is set for a return next month.
The French Ligue 1 fixture, Olympique Lyon vs. ES Troyes AC, kicks off at 20:00 (GMT+1) on Matchday 7, Wednesday, September 22, at the 59,186-capacity Groupama Stadium.
Troyes have won only one game in their last five (LDLWD) and occupy 13th place on the Ligue 1 table, having picked up 5 points from 1W, 2D, & 3L. The club returns to Ligue 1 action after the 1-1 draw against Montpellier over the weekend at the Stade de l'Aube. Yoann Touzghzar (37’) established the lead for Troyes but Teji Tedy Savanier (87’) struck with the leveler, three minutes before stoppage time. Troyes' performance in the final third has brought the club six goals after six Ligue 1 games. ESTAC have conceded 8 goals (1.33 g.c.p.g) so far, in the short length of the current season, and have a goal difference of -2. Laurent Batlles' probable 3—5—2 formation could see Yoann Touzghzar and Xavier Chavalerin in attack against Lyon.
Ligue 1 fixture, ES Troyes AC vs. AS Monaco F.C. kicks off at 12:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday, August 29 at the Stade de l'Aube.
Ligue 1 newcomers, ES Troyes AC have so far failed to live up to expectations following their return to top-flight football after a three-year absence. Troyes remain at the bottom end of the table, - in 18th place after picking up only one point in two games; 0W 1D & 2L. Last weekend, they picked up a 1-1 draw on the road against Strasbourg. Troyes started the game on the front foot, forcing, not one but two excellent saves from the Strasbourg goalkeeper. Yoann Touzghar (19') eventually broke the deadlock to give Troyes the deserved lead. Late into the second half, Adrien Thomasson (77') found the leveller leaving both sides with a point apiece. The draw leaves Troyes with a form that reads: LLD. Coach Laurent Batlles hopes the draw would signal a turnaround in the club's fortunes on the field come Match Day 4. On Sunday, he will aim for a few more points to distance his side from the bottom three. He is expected to adopt a 3—5—2 formation with the attacking duo of Yoann Touzghar and Dylan Chambost.
Ligue 1 fixture, ES Troyes AC vs. Paris Saint-Germain F.C. kicks off at 20:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, the 7th of August at the Stade de l'Aube.
After a three-year absence, Ligue 2 champions, ES Troyes AC made their return to Ligue 1 after finishing at the top of the lower league table with 77 points. They would be looking to get their season off to a flying start on Match Day 1 with a win or draw on home soil this Saturday. In preparation for the new season, they faced Clermont Foot 63 in a club friendly on the 3rd of July but lost, 2-1. In other pre-season games, they lost to Angers, 3-0, and Metz, 2-1 but picked up draws against Nimes, 2-2 and Bordeaux, 1-1. Troyes defeated Dijon, 2-1 in another pre-season fixture on the 17th of July. On the 2nd of August, ESTAC announced the arrival of 26-year-old left-back, Youssouf Kone who joined the club from Olympique Lyonnais on a season-long loan without the option to buy. The Malian remains a contender for the starting role and could be making his Ligue 1 debut for the club against PSG. Coach Laurent Batlles is expected to adopt a 3—5—2 formation with the attacking duo: centre-forward, Yoann Touzghar and attacking midfielder, Dylan Chambost playing ahead of the midfield quintet. The 34-year-old Tunisian centre-forward, Touzghar was the third-highest goalscorer in Ligue 2 last season after bagging 16 goals for Troyes.
