Following last weekend’s defeat to the Old Lady, the Reds are back against the Wolves, looking to pick up a win in another attempt to escape the relegation play-off spot. VfB Stuttgart vs. VfL Wolfsburg kicks off at 14:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 30, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Stuttgart were beaten 2-0 by Hertha Berlin in a relegation battle last weekend at the Olympiastadion, courtesy of goals from Davie Selke (4') and Ishak Belfodil (90'+3). The defeat leaves Stuttgart without a win in four Bundesliga games, WDLDL, and in 16th place, having picked up 28 points from 6W, 10D, and 15L. The Swabians are in a race to escape from the relegation play-off spot, where they sit two points above the bottom-two and are four points shy of safety. A victory here could see the Reds cut the four-point deficit to one if fifteenth-placed Hertha Berlin [32 points] fails to earn a point against Arminia Bielefeld at the weekend. VfB Stuttgart has lost four of their last seven Bundesliga home games against VfL Wolfsburg [W3 & 4L] and have picked up a total of just 11 points in the second half of the season after 14 matches. The Swabians had previously picked up fewer points in the top-flight in 2014-15 and 2018-19 (10 each). The Reds have a goal ratio of 1.16 GPG this season, having scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga games, and are looking to hit the back of the net against Wolfsburg on Saturday. Pellegrino Matarazzo is expected to piece together a 4—3—3 with Tomas, Kalajdzic, and Führich in attack. Meanwhile, Marmoush (muscular injury) and Mola (knee injury) are both ruled out of Saturday’s clash against Wolfsburg.

The Bundesliga fixture, VfB Stuttgart vs. Borussia Dortmund, kicks off at 19:30 (GMT+1) on Friday, April 8, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Stuttgart picked up a 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld last Saturday on Bundesliga Matchday 28 at the Bielefelder Alm Stadium. Sasa Kalajdžic (25' P.) bagged the opener from his maiden professional penalty after an Arminia shirt handled the ball in the box. However, a fine finish from Arminia's Florian Krüger (59') - his first Bundesliga goal - restored both sides on level terms. The draw leaves Stuttgart with a total of 8 points from a possible 15, LWDWD, as Die Roten moved one spot down the BL table, from 14th to 15th place, having picked up only a point on MD-28. The Swabians now have 27 points from 6W, 9D, and 13L, and are unbeaten in three consecutive home games for the first time this season [2W, & 1D], after picking up back-to-back 3-2 victories over Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Augsburg. Stuttgart are now looking to pick up three home wins in a row for the first time since the 1978/79 edition of the Bundesliga. Pellegrino Matarazzo could see the Swabians line up with the 4—3—3 formation, leaving Tomas, Sasa Kalajdžic and Omar Marmoush in attack against the Black & Yellows. A long injury list could see Naouirou Ahamada (toe injury), Nartey (knee injury), and Sankoh (knee injury) all ruled out of the weekend’s game, while Waldemar Anton remains suspended.

After sweeping Dortmund aside with relative ease, the Company’s Eleven make their way back for more Bundesliga action this weekend as they take on Die Schwaben, in search of three more points. Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs. VfB Stuttgart kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, February 12, at BayArena.

Stuttgart failed to earn a point in the five-goal thriller against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which ended in a 3-2 defeat. Evan Ndicka (7') put the Eagles in front, but Anton (42') pulled one back for Stuttgart, leveling the scoreline, three minutes before the break. A volley from the edge of the box by Hrustic (47') restored Frankfurt's lead two minutes after the interval. But Stuttgart would find the equalizer once again, this time through Sasa Kalajdzic (70'). Stuttgart were eventually condemned to a defeat after the Eagles grabbed the winner through a remarkable 20-yard strike from Hrustic (77'), who completed the brace. The defeat left Stuttgart in the relegation zone, 17th place, with 18 points from 4W, 6D, & 11L. Without a win in five games, Stuttgart will be making a return after three straight defeats, LDLLL. Pellegrino Matarazzo could see the Swabians line up with the 4—4—2 formation, leaving Marmoush and Kalajdzic in attack for this fixture against the Company’s Eleven. Anton (not included) is ruled out along with Egloff (match fitness) and Nartey (knee).

The German Bundesliga fixture, VfB Stuttgart vs. RB Leipzig, kicks off at 15:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, January 15, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Stuttgart failed to find a way past Greuther Fürth on Bundesliga Matchday 18 and had to settle for a goalless draw at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer. Both sides came close to hitting the back of the net over the course of ninety minutes, but failed to do so, with Stuttgart taking 17 shots while having 3 O.T. before the end of the barren draw. Following the draw, Stuttgart moved from 16th to 15th place, and now sits just above the bottom-three based on goal difference. The club has 18 points from 4W, 6D, & 8L and remains without a win after three Bundesliga appearances, DWLLD. Pellegrino Matarazzo's side must work on the numbers in defense in a bid to distance themselves from the lower end of the Bundesliga table. Over the course of the season, Stuttgart has hit the back of the net 22 times (an average goal ratio of 1.22G/G after 18 Bundesliga games. But on the other end, the club has conceded 31 times (an average of 1.72 goals conceded per game) and has a goal difference of -9. A 3—4—2—1 formation, with Sasa Kalajdzic in attack, is expected from Pellegrino Matarazzo for this fixture against RB Leipzig. Stuttgart will be without Mavropanos (COVID-19) and Atakan Karazor (ankle injury), while Omar Marmoush remains on international duty with the Pharaohs. Marmoush failed to make any form of impression with Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, following Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Nigeria at Cameroon 2021.

Having walked away with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday, the Swabians are set for an early Bundesliga return in this game against the Reds. VfB Stuttgart vs. FC Bayern Munich kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Tuesday, December 14, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The celebrant, Mavropanos (25'), unwrapped a special gift for himself on his birthday, in the shape of an 18-yard-strike into the top corner. Having established a one-goal lead five minutes short of the half-hour mark, Stuttgart pressed for a second after the break. Philipp Förster (63') eventually doubled the visiting side’s lead three minutes after the hour mark. Left eligible to take part in the contest of ninety minutes against his parent club, Stuttgart’s Omar Marmoush [who is on loan from VfL Wolfsburg] had the opportunity to stretch the lead to three but failed, after seeing his cheeky effort from the penalty spot hit the cross-bar. The victory was Stuttgart’s second in five Bundesliga games: LLWDW. However, they remained rooted to the same spot, just above the bottom three, in 15th place, having picked up 17 points from 4W, 5D, & 6L. Considering the arsenal at the opposition’s disposal, a point in this difficult fixture would be a fine result for Pellegrino Matarazzo. The 44-year-old will be sticking with three at the back, while Omar Marmoush retains his spot at the top of the design in a possible 3—4—2—1 formation. Plagued with injuries, Stuttgart could be without as many as eight players.

After being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, VfL Wolfsburg returns to Bundesliga action to face VfB Stuttgart following a 3-1 loss to Lille OSC. This Bundesliga fixture kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Matchday 15, Saturday, December 11, at the Volkswagen Arena.

Stuttgart, on the other hand, are coming off a 2-2 draw against Hertha Berlin. Omar Marmoush (15') raced away, unchallenged, from the halfway line with a blue shirt at his heels before bagging the opener for a Stuttgart lead. Minutes later, a 20-yard-strike from Förster (19') gave Stuttgart a comfortable two-goal lead before things took a dramatic turn. Jovetic (40') had executed a step over, leaving one white shirt behind before dropping the left shoulder for a right-curler aimed at the right corner. Minutes after the break, Jovetic (76') returned for the brace to leave both sides with a point. Stuttgart remained in 15th place on the Bundesliga table after the draw, having 14 points from 3W, 5D, and 6L. The Swabians have the form: LLLWD ahead of this fixture, and Pellegrino Matarazzo could be laying out another dynamic 3—5—2 formation for this game against Wolfsburg.

The Bundesliga fixture, Borussia Dortmund vs. VfB Stuttgart, kicks off at 15:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, November 20, at Signal Iduna Park.

Stuttgart picked up a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arminia Bielefeld on MD 11. Masaya Okugawa (19') bagged the only goal at the Mercedes-Benz Arena to condemn Stuttgart to back-to-back defeats: WDDLL. The loss saw Die Schwaben drop two spots from 13th to 15th place on the Bundesliga table, having picked up only 10 points from 2W, 4D, & 5L. With just over a goal per game, the Swabians have a total of 15 goals after eleven Bundesliga games. The numbers are not good enough to trouble the Black and Yellows, so Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side must keep it tight at the back to emerge with at least a point against Dortmund. However, Stuttgart have also been poor at the back. They have conceded 20 goals so far this season. An average of 1.82 goals per 90 minutes, which leaves the club with a G.D. of -5. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s probable 3—1—4—2 formation against Dortmund could see Daniel Didavi and Al Ghaddioui in attack. Kalajdzic (shoulder) and Millot (knee) are ruled out of this fixture, while Ahamada (Achilles) remains in doubt.

The German Bundesliga fixture, VfB Stuttgart vs. Bayer 04 Leverkusen, kicks off at 14:30 (GMT+1) on Matchday 5, Sunday, September 19 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

VfB Stuttgart picked up a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park on Matchday 4. Centre-forward, Omar Marmoush, on loan from VfL Wolfsburg, was keen to make his mark with minutes into the game after forcing a save out of Frankfurt's goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the 17th minute. Frankfurt squandered a chance to take the lead at the other end minutes after Marmoush's attempt. Both sides left without a goal at the break, but it was the home team who scored first. Frankfurt's Filip Kostic (79') separated both sides late in the second-half before things went from bad to worse for Stuttgart. The visitors were reduced to 10-men after Waldemar Anton (R. 82') was shown the red for bringing down Rafael Borre at the edge of the box. Six minutes after the incident, the 22-year-old Omar Marmoush (88'), who was making his debut for the club, salvaged a point for Stuttgart after leaving the goalkeeper and a player behind for the tap in. Stuttgart remain in 10th place with 4 points after 1W, 1D & 2D (WLLD) and a win over Bayer Leverkusen could see Pellegrino Matarazzo's side move inside the top ten. Ninth-placed Hoffenheim take on Arminia Bielefeld, while eight-placed Union Berlin have a difficult fixture against Dortmund. Matarazzo is expected to line up the 3—4—2—1 formation with Marmoush in attack once again. Naouirou Ahamada is ruled out with an ankle injury while Waldemar Anton is suspended. Meanwhile, Mohamed Sankoh is nursing a knee injury and will be unavailable for this fixture.

German Bundesliga fixture, VfB Stuttgart vs. SC Freiburg kicks off at 14:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, August 28 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

VfB Stuttgart will return off the back of last Friday's embarrassing 4-0 defeat to RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena. Leipzig were on the front foot from the get-go. An acrobatic effort from Andre Silva forced a save out of Florian Müller before Dominik Szoboszlai (38') put Leipzig in the lead with a fabulous strike. Minutes later, a team goal from the Bulls, helped on with an assist in the shape of a backheel from Andre Silva and finished off by Forsberg (46') saw Stuttgart pick up a two-goal deficit. Dominik Szoboszlaia (52') returned for the brace minutes later to compound Stuttgart's misery before Andre Silva (65' P.) added to the haul from the penalty spot. - His first goal in the colours of RB Leipzig. Coach, Pellegrino Matarazzo watched on from the sidelines as the Swabians were shredded to pieces. On Saturday, he would be aiming to get back to winning ways when he returns with Stuttgart in a probable 3—4—2—1 formation which could see Hamadi Al Ghadddioui in attack. Riddled with injuries, Stuttgart may be without Orel Mangala and Mohamed Sankoh. Meanwhile, centre-forward, Sasa Kalajdzic continues to struggle with fitness. Ahead of Match Day 3, Stuttgart remains in 10th place with 3 points after two games: 1W, 0D & 1L.

Bundesliga Match Day 2 kicks off this weekend with RB Leipzig vs. VfB Stuttgart taking the center stage at the Red Bull Arena, time: 19:30 (GMT+1) on Friday, August 20.

Meanwhile, VfB Stuttgart started their 2021/2022 Bundesliga campaign in style with a 5-1 win on home soil over newcomers, Greuther Fürth. The newly-promoted side started brightly before the home side took full control of the game. Wataru Endo (30') handed Stuttgart the lead at the Mercedes-Benz Arena right at the stroke of half-time before Philipp Klement (36') struck for the second, six minutes later to help Stuttgart establish a comfortable lead before the break. Minutes after the interval, Marc-Oliver Kempf (55') stretched the lead before returning for the brace twenty-one minutes later (76'), - his first-ever Bundesliga double. Before Kempf's second, Hamadi Al Ghaddioui (61') got Stuttgart the fourth in a show of dominance over the visiting side. However, the visitors left with a consolation goal after Jamie Leweling (90'+ET) raced towards goal unchallenged and rounded goalkeeper, Florian Müller. Stuttgart's impressive start to the season could steel Pellegrino Matarazzo's side ahead of their game against RB Leipzig. The Reds could line up with three at the back in a 3—4—2—1 formation which could see Al Ghaddioui named as the centre-forward of choice. Riddled with injuries, Stuttgart may be without several players in the shape of Sasa Kalajdzic, Orel Mangala, and Mohamed Sankoh. Kalajdzic tested positive to coronavirus while Mangala and Sankoh are sidelined with varying forms of injuries.
