After picking up a draw against the Foxes on European soil, the Little Cubs are back, looking to see off Bologna in a quest for a fifth-place finish. The Serie A fixture between AS Roma and Bologna FC 1909 kicks off at 19:45 (GMT+1) on Sunday, May 1, at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bologna picked up a famous 2-1 win over Serie A title hopefuls Inter Milan in a re-arranged mid-week COVID-inspired clash. Ivan Perišić (3’) had given Inter the lead right after kick-off before a fine header from Marko Arnautović (28’) left both sides on level terms. With minutes left on the clock, Nicola Sansone (81’) bagged the winner for Bologna after Radu failed to connect with a throw-in from Inter's goal-scorer, Ivan Perišić. The win leaves Bologna with their second victory in five games, DWDDW. In 13th place on the Serie A table with 42 points from 11W, 9D, & 14L, a victory here could see Bologna jump two spots across the table if favorable results emerge elsewhere. Siniša Mihajlovic was absent from the dugout against the Well-Cherished One once again and is expected to remain away from public eyes as he continues further treatment for leukemia. However, assistant manager, Miroslav Tanjga could line up a dynamic 3—5—2 with Marko Arnautovic and Musa Barrow in attack. I Rossoblù will be without Mitchell Dijks for this weekend’s clash against the Magic One.

After salvaging a point in a goal-ridden draw against the Little Zebras, the Greyhounds are back in this COVID-inspired re-arranged clash against the Well-Cherished One, looking to land a fatal blow on her Serie A title hopes. Bologna FC 1909 vs. Inter Milan kicks off at 19:15 (GMT+1) on Wednesday, April 27, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

In a four-goal thriller on home soil over the weekend, Bologna held Udinese to a 2-2 draw. Bologna's Aaron Hickey (6’) gave the home side the fast start they were craving, but Udinese found the leveler through a fine side-footed finish from Destiny Udogie (25’). Isaac Success (46’) then put the Little Zebras in front right after the break. However, the Red and Blues were having none of it, as Nicola Sansone (59’) hit the back of the net for the leveler, two minutes after coming off the bench. The draw leaves Bologna without a win in two Serie A games, LDWDD, and in 13th place, having 39 points from 10W, 9D, and 14L. Furthermore, it leaves Bologna with five draws in their last eight league games [W1, 5D, & 2L]. Assistant manager, Miroslav Tanjga, will be looking to see his side become a thorn in Inter’s flesh and pick up at least a point as an outright victory appears unlikely. Last time out, he lined up the dynamic 3—5—2 with Riccardo Orsolini and Musa Barrow in attack, mirroring Udinese’s shape. The 57-year-old is expected to keep both shape and personnel in place against Inter on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic is ruled out of the mid-week clash with a hip injury.

The Serie A fixture, Juventus FC vs. Bologna F.C. 1909, kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 16, at the Allianz Stadium.

Bologna are coming off the back of a 2-0 win over Sampdoria, courtesy of a brace from Marko Arnautovic (61' & 76') at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Monday. The club remains in 12th place on the Serie A table, with 37 points from 10W, 7D, and 14L, looking to pick up back-to-back victories, DLLDW. Siniša Mihajlovic’s Bologna have collected the fewest points away from home in the second half of this campaign, 2 points only, and are aiming for success on the road, in the shape of an upset against the Bianconeri. A 3—5—2 formation with last weekend’s hero, Marko Arnautovic, and Musa Barrow in attack is expected for Saturday’s game against the Old Lady. Bologna has no major injury worries ahead of this fixture.

The Red and Blacks are back in Serie A, against the Greyhounds, looking to pick up another victory and remain at the top of the table as they continue in chase of what could be their first Serie A title in over a decade. The match between AC Milan and Bologna F.C. 1909, kicks off at 19:45 (GMT+1) on Monday, April 4, at the San Siro.

Bologna will be making their return with back-to-back defeats, WDDLL, having failed to find a victory in four games following the 1-0 loss to Atalanta. Moustapha Cisse (82') scored the only goal of the game at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, to see Bologna remain in 12th place. The Rossoblù have 33 points from 9W, 6D, & 14L, and Siniša Mihajlovic is looking to land a huge blow on Milan’s title hopes when he takes on his former employers on Monday. The 53-year-old will not be present in the dug-out, having returned to the hospital for another round of treatment for leukaemia. Mihajlovic had undergone a bone marrow transplant after several rounds of chemotherapy in 2019. In addition, Kevin Bonifazi (suspended) will also be unavailable for the weekend.

The Serie A fixture, S.S. Lazio vs. Bologna F.C. 1909 kicks off at 15:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, February 12, at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bologna held Empoli to a goalless draw at the Renato Dall'Ara last weekend and remain in 13th place on the Serie A table with 28 points from 8W, 4D, & 11L. Having avoided defeat following three losses in a row, WLLLD, the Rossoblù are looking to cause an upset at the end of their trip to the Stadio Olimpico. No side has scored more goals from outside the box than the Greyhounds in Serie A this season (eight), and Siniša Mihajlovic will be hoping to see Bologna stun the Eagles from range. His side had only two shots on target in the game against Empoli, in which he appeared with a Christmas tree formation in the shape of a 4—3—2—1, while leaving Andrea Pinamonti in attack. However, Mihajlovic is expected to switch to the dynamic 3—5—2, in a bid to stop the Eagles from taking flight. Marko Arnautovic and Riccardo Orsolini are expected in attack. Arnautovic has scored six league goals this season, three at home and three away from home, but remains goalless in his last eight appearances. His longest such run in the Big-5 European leagues since April 2019, when he went 11 in a row without a goal. Lorenzo De Silvestri is suspended, while Nicolás Domínguez is ruled out along with Nicolas Viola and Federico Santander.

The Italian Serie A fixture, Bologna F.C. 1909 vs. S.S.C. Napoli, kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Monday, January 17, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Bologna picked up a 2-1 defeat to Cagliari on Serie A Matchday 21 at the Sardegna Arena despite having a one-goal lead six minutes short of the hour. Riccardo Orsolini (54') hit the back of the net minutes after the break to put Bologna in the lead. However, a late surge from the Sardinians saw Leonardo Pavoletti (71') bag the leveler before Gastón Pereiro (90’+3) grabbed the late-winner in stoppage time at the Sardegna Arena. Having only three points from a possible 15, LLLWL, Bologna dropped two spots lower, from 10th to 12th place, following the defeat to the Islanders. The club has 27 points from 8W, 3D, and 9L. Sinisa Mihajlovic would like to see those numbers improve, but a dark patch in history against Napoli could leave him short on confidence ahead of Monday’s game. As a manager, Mihajlovic has won only two of his 20 Serie A games against Napoli [2W, 7D, & 11L]. In addition, Napoli are the side against which his teams have conceded the most goals in the competition (44). Bologna has a goal ratio of 1.4 g.p.g. this season, having scored 28 goals in 20 Serie A games. They have conceded 33 goals (an average of 1.65 goals conceded per game) and have a G.D. of -5. On Monday, a 3—1—4—2 formation with Marko Arnautović and João Pedro in attack is expected from Siniša Mihajlovic for this fixture against Napoli.

With the omicron variant fueling a new wave of COVID-19 pandemic, I Rossoblù returns after the Christmas break, following a three-goal haul against the Watermelon Peel in December last year. Bologna FC 1909 vs. Inter Milan kicks off at 12:30 (GMT+1) on Thursday, January 6, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Last time out, Bologna picked up a 3-0 win over Sassuolo at the Stadio Città del Tricolore. The Black and Greens were the ones on the front foot, forcing a number of saves from Bologna's Łukasz Skorupski in the opening minutes. But it was the Red & Blues who struck first after a remarkable ball over the top from Marko Arnautović found Riccardo Orsolini (36’). One minute before the stroke of half-time, Aaron Hickey (44') struck for Bologna’s second, firing over a sea of black and green shirts. Dominant, Bologna came knocking on three more occasions before they eventually found the third through Santander (90'+4), after a gift from Sassuolo's goalkeeper, Gianluca Pegolo, inside added-time. Having returned to winning ways, WLLLW, I Rossoblù moved two steps up, from 12th to 10th place, with 27 points from 8W, 3D, & 8L. Siniša Mihajlovic is expected to keep the 3—5—2, following the impressive performance against Sassuolo. A Riccardo Orsolini - Marko Arnautović pair is expected in attack for this fixture against Inter Milan. Meanwhile, a surge in COVID-19 numbers will see the Renato Dall'Ara filled only to 50% capacity, with social distancing a priority. Meanwhile, Bologna could be without Aaron Hickey for this fixture, and three others due to positive COVID-19 PCR tests.

Following the 2-1 defeat to II Toro, the Greyhounds make their return this weekend to take on the Old Lady, hoping to sit comfortably inside the top-ten at the end of Serie A Matchday 18. Bologna F.C. vs. Juventus F.C. kicks off at 18:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, December 18, at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Antonio Sanabria (24’) put Torino in front midway through the first forty-five with a remarkable finish while holding off a Bologna shirt. A deflection almost left Bologna with a two-goal deficit, but Łukasz Skorupski sprang to life, pulling out a remarkable save to keep Bologna from falling further behind. Bologna remained on the back foot, leaving II Toro to do all the attacking. A remarkable right-footed shot from the goal scorer, Sanabria, struck the crossbar minutes before the break. Minutes after the interval, a double deflection, off Tommaso Pobega’s effort left Bologna's Adama Soumaoro (69’ O.G.) with an own goal. Orsolini (79’ P.) cut Torino’s lead down to one from the spot, but Bologna failed to find the leveler. The 2-1 loss leaves Bologna with back-to-back defeats: LWWLL and in 10th place, having failed to earn a point on Matchday 17. The Red and Blues have 24 points from 7W, 3D, and 7L. Although Bologna has lost more matches against the Killer Lady in Serie A than any other side, Siniša Mihajlovic will be hoping a set piece will do the trick against the Girlfriend of Italy. His side has scored the most goals from corners in Serie A this season (seven), while the Old Lady has conceded the highest ratio of their goals off corner kicks (24%, 4/17). Siniša Mihajlovic could line up the 3—4—2—1 formation, with Marko Arnautović at the top of the design on Saturday.

The Serie A fixture, Bologna FC 1909 vs. ACF Fiorentina, kicks off at 12:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, December 5, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Siniša Mihajlovic’s side shocked Jose Mourinho’s Roma in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over the Giallorossi on home soil and moved one spot ahead from 9th to 8th place on the Serie A table. A well-computed 20-yard-curling strike from Mattias Svanberg (35’) found its way around the outstretched arms of Rui Patrício in goal for Roma. Bologna came close to conceding, but luckily, Łukasz Skorupski was having one of his best days in goal. A resurgent Bologna has amassed an impressive 12 points out of a possible 15 after five Serie A games: WWLWW, and have 24 points from 7W, 3D, & 5L. Focusing on the numbers, Bologna has a goal ratio of 1.4 g.p.g. this season, having scored 21 goals in 15 Serie A games. The club has also conceded 24 goals (1.6 goals conceded per game) and has a G.D. of -3. Siniša Mihajlovic could be lining up the 3—4—2—1 formation once again for this game against Fiorentina. Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic (hamstring) remains doubtful for this Sunday’s fixture.

The Serie A fixture, Bologna F.C. 1909 vs. AS Roma, kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Wednesday, December 1, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Bologna picked up three points in the 1-0 win over Spezia and clung on to 9th place on the Serie A table. Bologna started on the front foot but failed to convert several clear-cut chances in the first forty-five minutes. Arnautovic had hit the frame of goal in the opening minutes before Musa Barrow did likewise minutes later. The 23-year-old Gambian would later hit the woodwork for the second time in the game, - a third for Bologna. The visitors pressed further, minutes into the second period but were unable to unlock Spezia’s defense until the referee awarded a penalty for a handball to Bologna. Arnautovic (83' P.) stepped up at the Stadio Alberto Picco and converted from the spot. We collected three important points. We knew it was a tough game, and I think we deservedly won, Mihajlovic told DAZN after the game. Today [Sunday] we didn’t risk much and we created a lot, but we only scored from the spot. Bologna has 9 points out of a possible 15: LWWLW, and 21 points in total from 6W, 3D, & 5L. A 3—4—2—1 formation with Arnautovic in attack is expected from Siniša Mihajlovic against AS Roma on Wednesday.
